The new hall in Jirny is not just another logistics center, but a place where flowers receive first-class care and where a new rhythm of work is taking shape. “Compared to the previous premises, it’s a huge step forward because it offers all the facilities that the old place couldn’t provide. We have loading ramps, parking for all our vehicles, larger offices, and above all plenty of extra square meters,” explains Jiří, who, together with his team, prepared the hall for about two months.
The hall in Jirny is twice the size of the previous one, which ensures better facilities for the entire team and higher-quality service for you – our customers. Thanks to the larger cooling capacity, we can now purchase and store bigger stocks of fresh flowers. “We haven’t yet had the chance to measure how much goods the new hall can hold. But I can tell you this – we haven’t even come close to reaching its maximum capacity,” he adds.

The new location was no coincidence. Jirny is a town in the Prague-East district, located about 20 km from the capital and close to exit 8 of the D11 highway. Strategically, the location is ideal both for trucks arriving with goods from the Netherlands – where we source your flowers – and for distribution across the whole of the Czech Republic. “Since we deliver throughout the entire country and transport goods to our other branches, Jirny was the most suitable location,” Jiří explains.
This change has already been felt by the first customers. For those who are closer to Jirny than to the previous hall, we’ve made personal pickups easier. The others can now enjoy better product availability and a wider selection.

One of the key innovations that comes with the new hall is the operation of conveyor belts. For us, this mainly means improved efficiency in our work.
“The conveyor system speeds up our dispatching by quite a few percent, makes it easier to control both the quality and the quantity of goods being dispatched, and simplifies the delivery scheduling. On top of that, it saves employees a lot of walking, which always comes in handy,” adds Jiří with a smile.
Technically, the new conveyor line is complete, and we are testing it within our software to ensure everything works as it should. Customers can therefore look forward to its full launch very soon.

But enough about the new hall—let’s introduce its manager a bit more. Jiří has been with St. Gabriel for over five years. When he first started, it was, in his own words, tough.
Today, however, he knows exactly what his job entails. “What I enjoy most is the everyday excitement of constantly adapting to change. In this field, your ability to plan is limited, and every day brings a new thrill,” he reveals.
While he dedicated most of his professional life to logistics, he only fell for the “flower business” during the pandemic. “I was looking for a job, they were looking for an employee – and it just came together,” he recalls. Today, he leads a team of more than thirty people and ensures that everything in Jirny runs like clockwork. In his free time, he most enjoys spending time with his family and doing sports.
Don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten. Before we reveal Jiří’s favorite flower, we’ll give you a chance to guess. Three, two, one…
“My favorite is the dahlia. It’s a very beautiful flower. And on top of that, it has one of the most beautiful names I know,” Jiří shares.
So, did you guess it right? :) Either way, we look forward to seeing you at our new hall in Jirny. Come visit us—you might even get lucky and meet Jiří in person.
