The move of our Cash & Carry from Horní Počernice to Jirny is now behind us, and the new location is already serving our customers.
Take a look at how the opening went and what the new premises mean for you.
Although the weather wasn’t exactly on our side on the big day, the first eager visitors were already waiting outside before the doors even opened. In the end, we welcomed around 150 visitors to the grand opening, who had the opportunity not only to explore the new premises and shop from a wide range of products, but also to meet and get to know each other.
The excellent catering was provided by KRO Kitchen, and there was also ice cream from Zmrzlina u Lípy. The programme also included a competition for five vouchers worth CZK 3,000 each towards their next purchase at St. Gabriel. The winners have already received their vouchers, and we would like to congratulate them once again.
“It’s new and big here! I hope there will be an even bigger selection. There are a lot of people here today, so it’s a little crazy, but when we come back next time, I’m sure it’ll be great. We really like it here,” said our long-time customer Jindřiška Hochwalderová, whom you may know from the Květiny Jindřiška flower shop in Děčín.

The opening itself was preceded by a rather demanding move, which took us a total of 45 days. You might be thinking that all we had to do was pack up the goods in Horní Počernice and transport them to Jirny… but in reality, it was quite a logistical challenge.
“The biggest challenge was managing to relocate the cooling equipment and Cash & Carry facilities within a short period of time while keeping disruption to our main operations in Jirny to a minimum,” explained Miroslav Dostál, COO at St. Gabriel.
The result, however, was well worth the effort and brought several major changes. Today, Cash & Carry is no longer a separate operation from our main warehouse. Instead, both now operate together in Jirny.

While in Horní Počernice we stored flowers in a cooling box covering approximately 250 m², in Jirny we now have 350 m² available, giving us around 100 m² of additional space. And what does that mean for you?
The larger space allows us to offer a wider selection of cut flowers while also benefiting from the fact that Cash & Carry is located directly next to our main warehouse. This means we can replenish our assortment continuously and more quickly. You get access to a larger quantity of the freshest products.
There has also been a major change when it comes to potted plants. In Horní Počernice, we had approximately 550 m² of dedicated space for them. In Jirny, there is no fixed limit.
“The advantage of the new Cash & Carry is the flexibility of the space. Because it is connected to our main operation, we can adapt its size to the current season and expand or reduce it as needed,” explained Miroslav Dostál.
In practice, this means we can accommodate several hundred CC trolleys with potted plants and expand the space even further during peak seasons.

The flexibility of the new Cash & Carry opens up another opportunity that was not so easy to make use of in Horní Počernice. We can adapt the space not only to the amount of goods we need to accommodate, but also to larger events for you – our customers.
The grand opening was therefore also the first example of how the Cash & Carry in Jirny can serve as a place for us to meet and spend time together. In the future, we want to continue making use of this advantage and create more opportunities for us all to meet, alongside the shopping itself.
The move is behind us, and the doors of our Cash & Carry are finally open. Come and visit us in Jirny.
As our customers, you receive a 3% discount on every purchase at Cash & Carry. So, what will you take home this time?
